How could you "forget" that your partner was locked in a hot car? This looks like a serious case of gross negligence. I couldn't forget about my dog being in the car for 5 minutes, let alone three hours. I seriously hope the DA takes a good look into this case. I will try to post more info if I can get anything.
An Additional Thought:
Police dogs would receive the same protection as a service dog would under the Americans with Disabilities Act. The officer could have brought the dog into the training facility under any circumstance. This appears to be a case of bad judgement. Of course, something could come out to change my mind but right now, it looks pretty clear to me.
Officer will not be held responsible for death of his partner. Investigation still ongoing!

"bad judgment" is an understatement. IDIOT, with NO judgment. That dog suffered a LOT dying that way. For his punishment, how about putting HIM in a car, at the same temperature, for 3 hours. It could be an "instructional video" for everyone with dogs who live in warm climates and are that clueless, or just plain heartless.
This sickens me.
I can't believe an officer supposedly there to serve and protect - let his partner die. That has to be the most disgusting/disturbing (I could go on and on with how many ways this was just OH SO WRONG) story. Everyone at one time has left something in their car - but not something that lives and breathes and basically depends on you. This person was/is supposed to be looking out for us & God help us our children????? I don't think you have to be an animal lover to find this deeply disturbing.
Adam risked his own health and safety to rescue a baby bear who was wounded and alone. He saved that baby from the heat and devastation that surrounded them, not giving more than a seconds thought. He could have lost his own life, he could have put his own flesh family thru great pain and loss. But he saved Lil Smokey and brought people from all over the world together with love and prayers for a little bear. Never before has anything touched me so deeply as Adam and Lil Smokeys story. He is and always will be in my book a hero. One selfless act by this mere human has given me back my faith in mankind, maybe were not doomed afterall. Maybe one out of every million people will take a page from Adams life and save a life. Wouldn't the world be a better place?
God bless you Adam and family, and thank you.
I know this sounds horrible after such a peaceful feeling I had thinking about last years story of Lil Smokey, but I hope this officer is stripped of his position, he has no business being honored among the decent officers who risk their lives everyday for us.
Thank you.
